nothing about us, without us…
Kiva Centers is a nationally recognized peer-run and trauma-informed non-profit organization that offers support to people who identify as having a lived experience with mental health, trauma, and/or substance use. We offer internal and external trainings to build the CPS workforce, technical assistance, and networking opportunities statewide across Massachusetts. Kiva Centers is your connection to the MA Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification training, the Massachusetts Statewide Peer Network, Karaya and Juniper Crisis-Alternative Peer Respites, the Central MA Recovery Learning Community (CMRLC), and more. Kiva Centers focuses on the development and promotion of healing communities for people experiencing different social class impacts like trauma, mental health, and substance use.
Training
We offer trainings and materials to develop trauma-informed and peer-led supports for the Commonwealth of MA and throughout the United States.
Peer Support
We develop, promote, and run a variety of peer-led supports that validate an individual’s emotions, identities, and facilitates a self-determined healing process.
Advocacy
We prioritize personal autonomy and self-advocacy. We offer trainings and platforms for people to advocate with each other for the causes that impact themselves and all
of our communities.
We invite you join us in celebration on Thursday, May 25th to our Annual Statewide Peer Specialist Awards Ceremony at Worcester’s Jean McDonough Arts Theatre (JMAC).
This inspiring awards ceremony will honor those on the front lines of fighting mental health discrimination on a day-to-day basis, engaged in exemplary trauma-informed peer support work with the community, and making impactful changes while “in” but not “of” the system. Sponsorship gifts raised will help Kiva supply increased access to supports, to meet rising needs regarding food, heating, security, and other housing matters in an endemic world.
…we all deserve a seat at the table
