Being in a psychiatric hospital can be difficult, and leaving can feel overwhelming. While you’re in the hospital, you may face fear, uncertainty, and a sense of isolation. Once you return to your community, new challenges can arise as you work to reintegrate and regain stability. Having the right support during both stages is essential.
At Kiva Centers, we understand what you’re going through because we’ve been there ourselves. Our in-patient advocacy program offers connection and advocacy while you’re in the hospital and continued support as you transition home. Peer bridgers are individuals with lived experience who walk beside you, providing guidance, encouragement, and advocacy every step of the way.
Our advocacy services are designed to help you feel supported, informed, and confident:
Connection and advocacy while inpatient – We meet you where you are, ensuring your voice is heard and your rights are respected.
Understanding your rights – We provide information that helps enable you to make informed decisions about your care.
Receiving emotional and practical support – Whether you need a listening ear or help with transportation, we’re here for you.
Navigating next steps – We assist with tasks like paperwork, bill payments, and applications for essential services.
Connecting to resources – We help you access community resources that support your recovery and reintegration.
You don’t have to go through this alone. Our advocate services are free and do not require insurance. If you’re in Central Massachusetts and ready to take the next step, contact us at 508-751-9600 or request a Peer Bridger through our website.
