This introductory training provides a foundational overview of Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) roles, core job duties, the CPS Code of Ethics, and the meaning of lived experience in peer support. Participants will learn strategies for effectively integrating peer workers into their organizations while honoring the unique values of the peer support model.
Designed for supervisors who are not themselves CPSs, this training offers a quick overview to better support peer staff. However, we strongly recommend that Peer Support Workers be sent to our Peer Supervision and Leadership training, and affirm that whenever possible, CPSs should be supervised by other CPSs.
