Kiva Centers is a peer-led, trauma-informed organization dedicated to supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and trauma. Our services include technical assistance, training, and direct peer support. We operate Recovery Learning Communities, Peer-Run Respites, and Peer Bridging services. Additionally, we host the Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist training program. We believe that connection and community are essential components of healing, and our shared experiences guide our collective journey toward wellness.
You are welcome to visit our Kiva Worcester location for a tour. A peer supporter will guide you through the center and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to review our calendar and attend a meeting or two during your initial visit.
You are also welcome to join any of our in-person or online groups.
No, there is no cost to join the Kiva Centers or to participate in our activities. No insurance is required.
Yes, phones and computers are available for use. Our community members are also available to assist you if needed.
Kiva Centers maintains three activity calendars: one for Kiva – Worcester, one for our online peer support groups, and another for our Southbridge location. These calendars provide information on meetings and gatherings specific to each area. To receive the calendar via email, please ask a member of the Kiva peer support team to add your email address to our mailing list.
Kiva Centers offers various activities, including arts, music, dance, yoga, and meditation. All necessary materials for these groups and activities are provided. However, you are welcome to bring any personal materials you prefer to use.
All Kiva Centers staff members have lived experience with trauma, mental health, and/or substance use recovery. They have received training and are either Certified Peer Specialists or are in the process of becoming certified.
