The majority of our staff have first-hand knowledge of receiving and delivering services.

Zia Young Adult Access Center

Young Adult Recovery Navigator (full time)

The Young Adult Recovery Navigator is someone with lived experience related to substance use and/or mental health services. They will work with young adults of our organizational age bracket (16-22) in the Worcester area. Job responsibilities include: leading and developing groups (including but not limited to facilitating Substance Use support group); working both independently and as part of a group with fellow peer advocates; providing outreach to the community to engage with young adults; offering support and information for linkages to mental health, substance use, primary healthcare, supportive housing employment, education, social support, DTA, etc.

Young Adult Peer Advocate (part time)

Young Adult Peer Advocates are central to the Zia Access Center. Peer Advocates are individuals who have first-hand experience with various life struggles (i.e. emotional distress, trauma, substance use) and within different systems (i.e. mental health, juvenile justice, foster care, etc.) and who actively share this experience with the young adults they support. Peer Advocates also embody and emphasize our ideals around youth and young adult advocacy and social justice, with a focus on youth liberation and systems change. In general, Peer Advocates will support the Access Center’s daily virtual operations and, eventually, physical operations within the Kiva Centers and Open Sky Community Services upon reopening. Works with youth and young adults ages 16-22.
